SADDHAMMA NIDHI

The Inspiration Behind Saddhamma Nidhi
His Eminence Bana Bhante, Most Revered Venerable Sadhanananda Mahathera, once instructed Venerable Nandapala Mahathera:
"Nandapala, the people of Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh have repeatedly invited me to India, but I am unable to travel there. Therefore, you should go, teach the Dhamma and meditation, and help revive Buddhism in the Land of the Buddha."
Inspired by these words, Venerable Nandapala Mahathera began his Dhammadūta mission in India in 1999. Over the years, he tirelessly travelled across India teaching the Dhamma, conducting meditation programs, and working to revive and strengthen Buddhism in the Land of the Buddha. His efforts led to the establishment of numerous monasteries, meditation centres, and training institutions for monks and lay practitioners.
His Eminence Bana Bhante passed away on 30 January 2012 at the age of 93, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of wisdom, compassion, and selfless service. His passing was not only a profound loss to the Buddhist community but also to humanity at large.
Determined to continue the noble mission of his revered teacher, Venerable Nandapala Mahathera established Saddhamma Nidhi on 17 August 2012. Founded as a humble tribute to Bana Bhante, Saddhamma Nidhi seeks to preserve, promote, and revive the Buddha Sāsana through Dhamma propagation, education, meditation, and community service.
